Boring Insurance Agency

Water, height and crowds, with lifeguards as the whole control.

Insurance for water parks and aquatic facilities — drowning and slide exposure, seasonal staffing, and a season short enough that a closed week is a real loss.

A licensed human replies the same business day — not an auto-responder, and not five producers calling at once. We shop it across our carriers and tell you if the policy you already have is the right one.

We use this to quote and service your insurance, and we do not sell it or pass it to lead networks. Privacy policy.

/ Coverage

What water park businesses actually need.

General liability

Third-party bodily injury and property damage — the line nearly every contract names by default.

Without it — Slides, pools, decks and a crowd of barefoot guests.

Participant accident

Pays the medical costs of someone injured while taking part — a player, a camper, a rider — without anyone having to establish that the organisation was at fault.

Without it — Injuries on attractions working as designed, paid without a fault argument.

Commercial property

Buildings and contents, valued at what it costs to rebuild today rather than what you paid.

Without it — Slides, filtration, pumps and structures exposed to water and weather all year.

Business income

Replaces the profit and pays the ongoing bills while a covered loss keeps you closed — the part of a fire claim that is not the building.

Without it — The season is short, so a fortnight closed is a large share of annual revenue.

Equipment breakdown & spoilage

Covers the walk-in, the compressor and the line when they fail from the inside — a mechanical or electrical breakdown is excluded by property policies, and the stock that thawed goes with it.

Without it — Pumps and filtration failing closes attractions immediately.

Workers compensation

Required in almost every state the moment you have employees. Priced on payroll and class code, which is why the class code is worth arguing about.

Without it — A young seasonal workforce doing physical work in and around water.

Umbrella & excess liability

Extra limit stacked above general liability, auto and employers liability. Usually the cheapest million dollars on the policy.

Without it — Municipal leases and franchise agreements specify limits above primary.

Employment practices liability

Wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment claims brought by your own employees. General liability specifically excludes these.

Without it — Hiring a hundred teenagers each spring is an employment practices exposure.

/ Questions

What water park operators ask us.

What do underwriters focus on?

Lifeguards, and then everything else. Certification standard, ratios by attraction, rotation and vigilance procedures, documented in-service training, and audit results if you use an external programme. Drowning is the catastrophic exposure and supervision is the only real control, so a park that can evidence its guarding regime is underwritten very differently from one that describes it.

Does a splash pad count?

It is a water attraction and it is underwritten as one, even without depth. Slip exposure, unsupervised access, water quality and children moving between wet and dry surfaces are all live. Municipalities and apartment complexes frequently assume a splash pad is landscaping — it is not, and their general policies often say so.

How does a short season affect the policy?

It concentrates everything. Business interruption is worth more per day than an annual operation, weather cancellation matters more, and staffing is a large seasonal hire followed by a release. Some markets write seasonal terms; more will write annual with the exposure rated on the operating months. Which is better depends on whether the property risk disappears out of season, and for a water park it does not.

Not ready to talk? The guides answer the questions this page raises in more depth. Already insured with us and need a certificate or a policy change? Ask the service team rather than starting a quote — it is faster and it goes to the people whose job it is. We also write home and auto, which is usually cheaper alongside the business policy than apart from it.
