Privacy policy

What we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, who we send it to, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated 2026-08-16

The short version

We collect what you type into the quote form, plus ordinary web analytics. We use it to quote and service your insurance. We send it to the insurance carriers and wholesalers we approach on your behalf, and to the software we run the agency on. We do not sell it, and we do not send it to lead networks.

That last point is worth stating plainly because it is the norm in this industry and not what we do: some sites that look like an agency are lead generators that sell your details to several agencies at once. This one is an agency. Your enquiry goes to our producers.

What we collect

From the quote form, in two steps. The first step asks for your business name, email address, an optional phone number, and what you need help with. The second step is optional and asks for your state, the coverages you are interested in, a contact name, your current carrier, and your renewal date.

Automatically, we record the page you submitted from and any campaign parameters on it (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content and gclid) so we can tell which marketing actually produces enquiries. Our servers log your IP address, as effectively all web servers do.

Through analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to count pages and measure how far people get through the form. It is configured without advertising features and without ad personalisation, so this traffic is not shared with advertising networks and is not used to build an advertising profile of you. That is also why this site has no cookie consent banner — there is no advertising storage to consent to. If that ever changes, this page and the banner change with it.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, prepare quotes, place and service coverage, and meet the record-keeping obligations that come with being a licensed insurance producer. To route your enquiry to the producer who writes your class of business. To understand which pages and campaigns bring in real enquiries.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you. A licensed person reads what you send.

Who we share it with

We share what is necessary, with these categories of recipient:

  • Insurance carriers, wholesalers and general agents, when we market your risk to them. This is the core purpose — we cannot get you a quote without telling an underwriter about your business.
  • Our agency management and CRM software, which stores your record so we can service it.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers, which run this website.
  • Google Analytics, for the aggregate site measurement described above.
  • Regulators, auditors and professional advisers, or anyone else, where the law requires it.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We do not pass your enquiry to lead networks or to other agencies. We do not use your information to target you with advertising on other websites.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become policies are kept while they are still commercially useful and then deleted. Records connected to a policy we placed are kept for as long as the policy is in force and afterwards for the period our regulatory and professional obligations require, which is generally several years after the policy ends.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and we will. Email us and say what you want — there is no form to fill in.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, so there is no opt-out to offer, but the other rights apply and we will honour them.

One honest complication: much of what an insurance agency holds about you is financial information governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and information covered by GLBA is treated differently under the CCPA. Rather than use that as a reason to say no, our position is simply that if you ask us for your information or ask us to delete it, we will do what we can and tell you plainly about anything we are required to keep.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Access to the agency systems holding your record is restricted to our staff. No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise.

Children

This is a commercial insurance site intended for businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes, and how to reach us

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.

Questions about privacy, or a request about your information, go to the email address below and a person will answer.
