Boring Insurance Agency
A manufactured home at sunset with a metal carport alongside, lit windows and a wooden porch step, pines behind
Carport, porch, lights on.It is not rated like a house, and the wind provisions are the reason.

Most standard homeowners carriers will not write these at all. The problem is exactly that.

We write manufactured, modular and park-model homes on forms built for them, including the transit and tie-down exposures a site-built homeowners policy has no concept of.

/ Coverage

What mobile and manufactured home insurance actually covers.

The home itself

The structure, on a replacement cost basis where the age and condition allow it.

Without it — Actual cash value on a manufactured home depreciates fast and rebuilds nothing.

Attached structures

Awnings, carports, skirting, decks and steps.

Without it — These are the first things a windstorm takes and are commonly excluded.

Transit and setup

Damage while the home is being moved or placed.

Without it — The single highest-risk moment in a manufactured home’s life is uninsured by default.

/ Questions

What clients with mobile and manufactured home insurance ask us.

Why will a normal insurer not quote my manufactured home?

It is appetite rather than anything about you. Manufactured homes carry a different wind and fire loss profile from site-built houses, and most standard homeowners carriers simply exclude them from the program rather than rate for them, which is why a comparison site returns nothing and gives no reason. The market is real, it is just a different set of carriers, and several of them are specialists who write nothing else. Homes built before the 1976 HUD code are the genuinely hard ones and still placeable.

Does it matter whether I own the land?

Yes, it changes both the form and the price. In a leased-lot community, the home is personal property, the park insures the land and common areas, and your policy covers the home, your liability and often the cost of removing debris from the lot. On owned land the home may be affixed to a permanent foundation and treated much more like a house, which is usually cheaper and opens up more carriers. Whether the tow hitch, axles and wheels have been removed is a question underwriters genuinely ask.

Commercial insurance is 96% of what we do — it is not a department here, it is the whole business. Not ready to talk? The guides answer the questions this page raises in more depth. Already insured with us and need a certificate or a policy change? Ask the service team rather than starting a quote — it is faster and it goes to the people whose job it is. We also write home and auto, which is usually cheaper alongside the business policy than apart from it.
