The best package we have found for a new home health agency, and most owners have never heard the name.

Beazley is a specialist carrier we reach through BizInsure. They are strongest by a distance on home health and allied health, and the first market we go to for an agency writing its first policy.

One licensed human replies the same business day — not five agents, not an auto-responder. If the policy you have is already the right one, we will tell you.

/ Coverage

What we place with Beazley.

Home health package

General and professional liability written together for home health and home care agencies, including the non-medical side.

Without it — Buying the liability and the professional coverage separately leaves a seam, and the seam is where a care claim gets argued about.

Allied health and social services

Beazley also writes the wider caring professions: therapy practices, counseling and social service organizations.

Without it — A general small business market prices these defensively because it does not underwrite them often.

Miscellaneous professional liability

Errors and omissions for service businesses that do not fit a named professional class.

Without it — A general liability policy answers for what you did to someone, never for advice or a service that went wrong.

Cyber and data

Beazley writes a great deal of cyber, and it is the line they are best known for outside these classes.

Without it — A home health agency holds patient data, which makes it a privacy risk as well as a care risk.

/ Questions

What people ask us about Beazley.

Is Beazley a good insurance company?

For the classes they specialize in, they are one of the best we deal with. They are a Lloyd’s of London business with a long record in specialty liability and cyber, and they underwrite the caring professions properly rather than treating them as an awkward small-business class. Outside that appetite they are not the answer, because this is a specialist rather than an all-lines market.

Who would you send to them first?

A new home health agency, without hesitation. Their home health package is the best product we have found for an owner writing their first policy: the general and professional liability are built together for the class, the non-medical side is contemplated rather than argued about, and the underwriting is set up for a business with no loss history because that is the buyer they built it for.

What a home health agency needs

What is BizInsure, and why is that name on my paperwork?

BizInsure is the managing general agent we place Beazley business through, and one of our favorite partners to work with. They hold the underwriting authority from the carrier, so they are who quotes and issues, while Beazley is the carrier whose paper you are on and who pays a claim. Seeing both names is normal and neither is a middleman charging you extra: the commission is inside the rate either way.

How much do you place with them?

Enough to have a firm opinion. Beazley is one of our larger carriers by policy count, and the concentration is in home health and allied health rather than spread across the book. Honestly, that is what they are to us: a deep appetite in a few classes we write a lot of, rather than a market we go to for everything.

Can I buy it direct?

Not in the ordinary sense. Beazley distributes through brokers and managing general agents, so the route in is a submission rather than a quote form, which is also why the account gets underwritten by somebody who knows the class instead of scored by a model that has seen it rarely.

Who qualifies for Beazley coverage?

The qualifier is the class of business and the route in, rather than a form. Beazley is a specialist market reached through brokers and managing general agents, and its stated appetite is cyber, technology and media errors and omissions, management liability, healthcare and life sciences, and the specialty lines around them. A business in one of those classes qualifies by submitting through a broker who has access. A main street retailer or a contractor is not declined so much as never in the appetite.

Who needs Beazley?

A business whose main exposure is one Beazley specializes in. A home health or home care agency writing its first policy, a therapy or counseling practice, a technology or media firm that needs errors and omissions, or any business that holds sensitive data and needs cyber written by a carrier that leads that market. If your risk is premises and vehicles, you do not need Beazley, and a general small business market will price it better.

The Beazley home health package

Commercial insurance is 96% of what we do — it is not a department here, it is the whole business. Not ready to talk? The guides answer the questions this page raises in more depth. Already insured with us and need a certificate or a policy change? Ask the service team rather than starting a quote — it is faster and it goes to the people whose job it is. We also write home and auto, which is usually cheaper alongside the business policy than apart from it.
